It's hard for us to believe it too, but yes we are now competing in Formula Drifting! You can just barely make out the blue W logo on the back windshield between the wing struts.
We are running with the reigning world champion Samuel Hubinete in the Mopar Charger prepared by Shaun Carlson's company Nuformz - the same Shaun Carlson we ran successfully with in Pro FWD drag racing.
We have made some new drivetrain components to handle the horsepower they are putting out, however we are not going to go into any detail about what we are doing to help the Charger drift around a race track without failing, but suffice to say...
"Your stuff works f***ing great!" - Shaun beamed after the first test.
"I tried everything to break for about a half an hour, then we loaded it and shipped it!
Sam used our "stuff" in the Formula Drifting event in Evergreen, Washington and made it through to the top 8 before being eliminated by a faulty alternator. The car slowed down abruptly and the other car right behind him above, ran into him- resulting in the judges giving Sam a score of zero. Not the kind of debut we want to see, but as long as our "stuff" doesn't fail, we are happy!
