Out of the box with only a couple of laps testing on Sunday morning, the U-37 Miss Beacon set the pace by winning all three heat races comfortably! The second heat win was taken away from Billy Schumacher's team with what was regarded by many as a questionable call - that pilot Jean Theoret had jumped the start.

The final round saw the boats scrapping for position for the rolling start. As the boats approached the final turn, the U-37 machine was hosed down by another boat and lost fire. Once relit, the race was pretty much over for Miss Beacon, but Jean still managed to secure 4th place. It was a disappointing finish for the weekend, but that is racing.
On the bright side of things, it was a perfect debut for us with no issues from our gears! We would like to thank crew chief Scott Raney for having faith in us and dropping our gears in with no testing to speak of - there is nothing like testing during a race!
