The latest radical Surface Piercing Stern Drive to emerge from Weismann Marine is the "WDP" or the "HammerHead". Designed by Patrick Weismann to withstand diesel, turbine and gasoline power and torque, his 3rd SPSD drive goes to the next level aimed squarely improving efficiency in the single engine / drive market. It was originally drawn as a fixed drive with trim only, but later it evolved into what you see now.
The advantages of the "HammerHead" Duo Prop over standard single prop are numerous.
There is nothing that even comes close to this innovative drive in terms of sheer thrust capabilites.
With counter rotating props, the boat shoots straight as opposed to crabing thru the water as a single prop does.
The "HammerHead" can also be reconfigured to have a single prop, as well as offering the customer to change the direction of rotation of the props easily.
It is light weight, weighing in at a mere 300 lbs as pictured in the photo (without props).
The gimble arrangement is carried over from our other Drives for simplicity and commonality.
