In an
eventful weekend complete with heated battles
and fights to the finish, Todd LeDuc came out
the big winner at the Fairplex in Pomona in
Championship Off Road Racing. In Round 5
of the Pro-2 Championship Off Road Racing, Todd
LeDuc turn back challenges from championship
leader Rob MacCachren and Ricky Johnson to take
his first win of the season!

LeDuc dominated the Pro 2 class holding onto the lead throughout the entire race. Behind LeDuc, two battles raged; one between Carl Renezeder and Scott Taylor for second, and another between Jerry Whelchel and Rob MacCachren for fourth. After the manditory yellow, Renezeder worked his way up to second, but a flat tire dropped him back.
Lap 14 was the most exciting, as LeDuc, MacCachren and Johnson came out of turn 4 three wide. In turn 5, Johnson made contact with MacCachren leaving LeDuc in first and Whelchel in second. On the white flag lap, Whelchel hit the wall and allowed Johnson to take second behind winner LeDuc.

In Round 6, LeDuc lucked out for the second day in a row when his starting position number was the number called, which meant that LeDuc would start from the pole position rather than in row four. And just like Saturday, LeDuc turned that starting position into another win!
"We're learning every time we take this truck out," LeDuc said. "It's brand new. We changed some spring rates on it, and did some drivetrain stuff to it, and it started to get quicker and quicker."
LeDuc once again led every lap of the 18-lap Pro 2 race, pulling well clear of the field after the mandatory caution period on lap nine. LeDuc was able to fend off Scott Taylor to that point, and when the green flag fell, he left the field in his dust!

"I got super creative after the caution," LeDuc said. "They watered it [the track], and I literally felt like I was sitting still. I was just like, 'Be patient, be patient,' and I rolled the throttle on super nice. After that, I noticed that there was a big cushion against the wall in turn five."
LeDuc drifted out to the wall and smacked the berm. "It was like I was shot out of a gun, and that was what it took," LeDuc said. "I'm stoked."
