Finally after 8 years waiting, we are allowed to race our banned Semi-Automatic Marine Multi-speed Gearboxes in race boats again. Team Taboo with their unlimited Vee bottom boat was the first team to come to us for a transmission and the result has been phenomenal.
We created a custom Computer Controlled Transmission F-N-R 2 Speed for Team TABOO. Pat Weismann designed the gearboxes to give Team TABOO all of the advantages we could to maximize the performance of the Fountain Vee.
Surrounding the historic Seven Mile Bridge of the Florida Keys was the setting for the Marathon Offshore Grand Prix where Team Taboo took first place and the overall Miss GEICO Top Gun trophy for the best time of the day.
TABOO screamed into first position by turn two and held it, hitting an average
speed of 88.52 miles to complete the race in 44:36 minutes ahead of Instigator
who posted a second place time of 51:21 in the Superboat Vee Unlimited class -
almost 8 minutes behind!!
