Weismann 4 WD sweeps Unlimited 4 Rounds 1,2, 3 & 4!

Apr 7-8, 2009

Round 1
The inaugural Lucas Off Road Racing Series got under way in Primm, Nevada. The Unlimited 2/4 class combined both Unlimited 2 and 4s on the track at the same time. Like earlier in the day, it was clear that Carl Renezeder was the man to beat. He started both Unlimited 2 and the Unlimited 2/4 in similar fashion – he seemed to wait patiently a spot or two behind the leader the first few laps before really applying the pressure. Maybe he was still getting used to the new General Tires or maybe it was his game plan, but regardless he was leading the race at the halfway point, with Travis Coyne's Pro Comp U-4 in second. Weismann powertrains 1-2!

Round 2

Kent Brascho set the pace as the green flag dropped staying just ahead of Alan Pflueger, and Jerry Daugherty. Travis Coyne worked hard to hold off Renezeder. Lap after lap of door to door racing action led to Pflueger finally taking the lead from Brascho with Daugherty setting his sights on the front. Daughtery worked his way past Coyne and was hot on Pflueger's tail. With Coyne retired and Renezeder off the pace with mechanical issues, a surprised crowd witnessed Pflueger suddenly lose traction and the lead as a front axle, damaged while battling with Brascho, gave way. Pflueger relinquished the lead to Daugherty as Ampudia in a Unlimited 2 truck landed firmly in second place. Ultimately U-4 machine with a rugged Weismann 4WD transfer case proved too strong as Jerry Daugherty took the checkered flag!

Round 3
Off-road racing champion Carl Renezeder brought home his career-milestone 80th win on Saturday, taking first place in Unlimited 4 at the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series event at Speedworld Off-Road Park May 2-3. Renezeder, racing with a Weismann Unlocker and Weismann 4WD transfer, held off tight competition win the 3rd round of the Season.

Round 4
Renezeder and Alan Pflueger put on quite a show for the fans in the Unlimited 4 race on Sunday. Inside, outside, high, low – they swapped leads several times, several ways, over several laps before Renezeder finally made it stick with just a few laps to go. He now leads the championship points race by eight points over Pflueger.

Team Renezeder and Weismann have dominated LOORS short-course racing this season, winning five of the first eight Unlimited 2 and Unlimited 4 races this year.

“It was a hard-fought battle all weekend long, but the truck held out to give us a win over a very competitive field,” Renezeder said. “The wins are great – that’s what we get paid to do, but I love the battles. I had so much fun racing today.”
