The Traxxas TORC Series held the two rounds under the lights at Perris Auto Speedway. Off road legend Rob MacCachren dominated the Pro 2 division with two dominant wins and took over the championship lead over Supercross legend Ricky Johnson with only two rounds to go!
MacCachren
lined up in the second row for the start, drove around the outside lane through
the steep banked turn one, that allowed him blast past two trucks down the
backstretch and on the bumper of another Supercross legend leader Jeremy
McGrath.
With 800 horsepower dailed to the ground
through a Weismann Underdrive, Rob waited for the restart before attacking
McGrath and leaving him behind to fight off Johnson and Todd LeDuc and taking
the win!
After the impressive victory Friday night, MacCachren gained points in the
season point's race and was moved back to the third row where he started
side-by-side with Ricky Johnson, the point's race leader. The race was a copy of
friday night's race with different players and a few more trucks to pass.
Rob stayed away from the trouble, picked off trucks around the outside and down
the inside to the bumper of a very fast leader Dan Vanden Heuvel. After the
restarts Rob attacked and past Dan on lap 14 of the 20 lap main event and left
the pack behind!.
With the impressive double victories in rounds 13 & 14, MacCachren takes the
overall point leading into the final race weekend of the season at Las Vegas
Motor Speedway on October 23-24, 2009. Rob MacCachren and his Rockstar Energy
Racing invite everyone out to the 2009 TORC Pro2WD championship finale in Rob's
hometown, Las Vegas, Nevada, where the Rockstar Energy Racing team has planned
an epic end of the season celebration...VEGAS Style!
