The opening rounds of the new Traxxas TORC Series began this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway under the lights. Both the CORR and WSORR series have disappeared and have been replaced with TORC (The Off Road Championship) and LOORRS (Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series). The TORC series will take place on both coasts, while the LOORRS will take place mainly on the west coast. The majority of the racers have sided with TORC, while a few like Carl Renezeder have followed LOORRS.
Round 1

Before the Pro 4 racers ever even put in a full lap, Mike Jenkins was bumped and flipped over his truck three times, fortunately he walked away from the crash. Once the race restarted, Greaves led, with Kyle Leduc in second and Rick Huseman in third. Huseman quickly took the second from Leduc, while Scott Douglas (above) and Curt LeDuc were in fourth and fifth.
Greaves led until lap 10 when he lost control, flew off the track, and allowed both Huseman and Kyle LeDuc to jump ahead of him. Then the mandatory yellow flag dropped.
After the restart, Curt LeDuc (above) moved into second and Greaves pressured and got back second, but he again lost control and Leduc moved back into second. Huseman meanwhile extended his lead and took first place without challenge! Curt Leduc finished second, Greaves in third, Kyle LeDuc took fourth, and Scott Douglas finished in fifth.
The top five trucks, except for Greaves run Weismann Products. Rick Husman is now the only truck running a Weismann Manual 5 Speed 4WD transmission, all the other trucks run an automatic transmission.

Round 2
The rains came on Saturday and by
race time, the track was still very wet and
muddy. Kyle LeDuc charged out to an early lead,
but his strong start was negated by the
end-over-end crash of Greaves on the front
straightaway at the end of the first lap.
After
the restart, LeDuc led and Scott Douglas and
Rick Huseman battled for second. Huseman with
the fastest truck in the field, passed Douglas
before the halfway point. Shortly after the
mandatory restart Rick ran down LeDuc and move
into the lead. On lap 16, LeDuc bobbled
coming out of turn one and allowed Douglas to
get by, but neither racer was able to catch
Huseman, who finished the weekend with a clean
sweep of the Pro 4 class.
“You know, I was just trying to drive smooth,” said Huseman after his second win of the weekend. “We did a lot of testing in the off-season, and we’re happy it’s paying off. It’s definitely a confidence booster.”
Looks like Rick Husman has got the best transmission system!!
