Rick Huseman Dominates The Big House!

Round 5

Rick Huseman rocked the legendary Crandon International Off-Road Raceway during rounds 5 & 6 of TORC Series by pushing his way to the front and winning both races. Kyle and father Curt LeDuc drove their trucks to back-to-back second and third place finishes … all three were racing with Weismann products!

Huseman continues to dominant 2009 season in Pro 4X4, winning five out of the six races and firmly leading the class championship. He also has won five Oakley Bomb Run Awards for being the fastest in the race.

“My 'Weismann' worked perfectly all weekend!”, said an elated Huseman.

"The Big House" features a huge side by side land rush start and Kyle Leduc shot out to the early lead followed by Steve Barlow and Curt LeDuc, Rick was in sixth going into the first turn. Going into the Gravel Pit, Barlow got sideways and Curt LeDuc and Johnny Greaves powered by for second and third. On lap four Huseman made the move on Greaves in Argonne Loop.

On lap five, Curt LeDuc ran off the track after getting sideways of the Barn Jump, which allowed Huseman and Greaves to slide by into second and third. After the competition yellow, Huseman hounded Kyle LeDuc and had a strong run into the Gravel Pit. Using the small berm on the outside, Rick passed LeDuc (see photo above), but LeDuc countered on Calamity Corner by diving to the inside but Huseman was able to hold on for the lead.

Two laps later, Curt LeDuc got by Greaves for third. In the end, Huseman held on for his fourth win of the season. Son-and-father duo Kyle and Curt finished in second and third. Huseman won the Oakley Bomb Run award for the fastest lap in the race.

 

 

Round 6

Like the first race, Rick was in sixth going into the first turn. As Steve Barlow led the first lap, Kyle LeDuc followed and Rick worked his way into third. Kyle challenged for the lead passing Barlow on the inside of the Barn Jump turn, but Barlow retook the lead in Calamity Corner. On lap four Huseman passed Kyle around the outside of the Barn Jump!

On lap five, Barlow blew up a transfer case and Huseman moved into the lead. Barlow then fell into the clutches of LeDuc. They battled over the Traxxas Jump with Barlow landing skewed and Kyle getting away in second. Curt LeDuc then hit Barlow pushing him straight again. Barlow, with no front wheel drive got tagged again by Curt. Scott Douglas was trying to go around the outside of Barlow, but the two clashed and Douglas rolled over. Curt moved to the outside and crossed across the line in third as the competition yellow flag dropped. After it went green again on lap six, Curt passed Kyle, but Kyle was able to get the position back on the next lap.

Huseman cruised to the end to take his fifth win, and Kyle and Curt LeDuc took second and third again. Rick Huseman also won his second Oakley Bomb Run award of the weekend.

 

The races will be televised this weekend on June 28th on ESPN2 at 9:30 am Pacific Time.
