After 15 years of fending off the APBA Offshore sanctioning body, John Carbonell, the ownwe of the SuperBoat Inc. (SBI) has worked out a 10 year licensing agreement with the APBA and the support of the 101 year old International Authority of the American Powerboat racing Association to unify Offshore racing under a new organization "World Powerboat Racing, Inc."
After 5 years of waiting, the ban of our Weismann MKII Surface Drive has been partially lifted. The MKII will be legal again in Super Vee boats and it is on the upcoming ballot for Super Cat! It looks like the Weismann Engine Inline Package will be legal as well, but our semi-automatic multi~speeds are still out.
