1st RACE ~ 1st WIN

Pat Weismann, Rique Ford, Chris Weismann, and Dave Thomas celebrating 1st win !

Rique Ford had faith in our vision and commissioned a brand new boat to utilize our radical surface drive package. Combining all of our latest concepts, this boat is completely new!

Years in the planning, Pat and Chris worked hard to make this drive the most technically advanced surface propulsion system on water.

On June 4th, 2000 in Ventura Ca., with about an hour of total test time on the first 2 prototype MKIIs, Rique Ford and Dave Thomas

accelerated past Honker Cat Marine to take the lead on lap 3,

then they launched past and lapped 1998 and 1999 Pacific APBA Champion Renegade on lap 7.

Rique and Dave lapped the entire field except for 2nd place and won the race!

In extreme ocean conditions of 6-8 ft rollers, Rique and Dave put our drives to it's 1st hard test ever and proved our concept the best way possible! They led the last 7 laps to take our 1st Checkered Flag in our 1st race!

We would like to thank several key people who made this possible:

Tom Roberts, for the beautiful craftsmanship on the wood patterns.

Hardy Allen, for the care he showed in the work he did on our two prototypes.

Tommy Peralta, our CNC lathe machining, programming expert.

Christian Wakula, our gear and spline cutting expert, mechanic and assembler.

Phil De Ruyter, our CNC mill machining and programming expert.

Juvenal Partida, our deburr and saw man.

Jim Kightlinger, our Tool & Part Grinding expert and quality inspector.

Rollin Colbert, our Heat-Treating expert.

Randy Faber and Mesa Bearings, our bearing and seal supplier.

The Ragamuffin Crew, Thaddeus Findley, Victor, Carey, Steve, Carl.

Mr. Rickey and Vapor Trails Boating News Magazine, The World's Largest Coverage On Offshore Racing.

Just before the start of the next race season in 2001, our MKII drive was banned from competing in Super Cat and Super Cat Light.

The only classes available to us were Super Vee and Super Vee Light. Instead of walking away from the sport that we helped prosper, we battled back the only way we know how.

We created the Weismann Inline System for Vee bottom boats.

The Ettore Super Vee.

Nigel Hook's Super Vee Light Scarab

Unfortunately for any potentially new customers that would like to race in the APBA Offshore LLC, our drives are now "Too Radical" to be allowed on ANY new boats!

Eventhough they are proven faster, safer, more durable and more effiecient than the competiton, "They don't conform to the looks and functions of our competitors."

In other words, our drives are better, therefore they are illegal!
