John Surtees
who came to race in a Lola built by his then-partner Eric Broadley, was quick to notice Michele & Peter in the Mclaren pits. He adopted the locker which was worth 3/4 of a second a lap , and won the first Can Am Championship at Las Vegas in 1966.

Peter Revson

Stingy Teddy Meyer, who was the financial chief at McLaren, refused to spend $1000 to give Revson a locker in F1. So Peter would "borrow" his Can-Am diff , take it to a F.1 race in his luggage, and bring it back for the next Can-Am , once in a while taking it to Peter Weismann for a quick check-up.
