Weismann Semi-Auto

SCORE Champion Again!

The 36th annual SCORE-International Baja 1000 desert race is the final race in the season. 272 starters, only 153 finishers. In the trophy class alone there were 24 trucks, only 13 finished.

In their quest to finish first overall, the Herbst team came up a bit short and finished 3rd overall, 2nd in class. A offroad excursion late in the race them the race. They finished the race in 17 hours 17 minutes, while the winner finished in 16 hours 24 minutes. The Truggy lost an engine.

For the second straight year, our 6 Speed Semi-Automatic Transmission has won the championship in the SCORE Trophy Truck Class!

(Nov. 13th-16th - Gainesville, Fl.)

Travis Davis

2003 AMA/Prostar Funny Bike Champion!

Weismann Transmissions

1 - 2 in the AMA/Prostar Funny Bike Championship!

4th AMA/Prostar Funny Bike Championship in 5 years!

3 in a row!

Travis entered the final two rounds with a 115 point advantage over 2001 Champion Robert Giard, the only rider with a realistic chance of beating Travis to the crown. Tom Perry had a mathematical chance of winning at 204 points behind, but he pretty much had to win the last two final rounds, and have both Travis and Robert break early in both rounds to have any chance.

Due to the rain in February in Gainesville, the MRE Sunshine Nationals event's elimination rounds were postponed until Friday. Unfortunately Robert Giard suffered from severe tire troubles all weekend and he fell to Tom Perry in the semi-finals. Travis had no trouble to getting past Korry Hogan and the final round came down to Travis and Tom.

All Travis had to do to win the championship was win the race. Cool and collected, Travis was on a mission. And when the lights turned green, Tom was already beat. Travis had a RT of .038 sec, an ET of 7.032 sec, and a 190.11 mph pass to win his 6th race of the year and his first AMA/Prostar Championship in style.

Robert qualified 13th for the final round, and Travis qualified 2nd. Korry Hogan emerged this year as a top competitor and he took the number one qualifying position away from Travis by 1 hundredths of a second. Koury bought Wendal Douhat's crashed machine, and restored it to it's former potential and became the arch nemesis of Travis throughout the weekend. What Korry didn't realize was that in every race this year when Travis qualified #2, he would go on to win the final round. Davis was just where he wanted to be going into Sunday's elimination rounds.

Mark Chisholm had his quickest pass ever at 7.362 sec on his clean new bike. Engine problems just before the end of his pass ended his day in the quarter finals.

PMRA World Finals winner Mark "Champ" Wagoner showed he could put the power down and made it to the quarter finals. Clutch problems ended his day against Korry Hogan.

It looked as if it was going to come down to Travis and Korry in the final as both riders dominated their opponents thru each elimination round. Travis took out Tom Perry in the quarterfinals and by doing so, ensured Robert Giard 2nd place in the Championship. But in the semi-finals, Korry's bike kept stalling in the box, and he was not able to take the tree and lost the round to the Harley of Mark Conner.

In the dark, Travis and Mike rolled into their lanes for the season's final round. A Kawasaki against a Harley. The Harley left first with a RT of .036 sec, Travis' RT was .078 sec. Travis was reeling him in at the 1/8th mile. Then Travis rocketed by and took the win with an ET of 6.802 and 202.70 mph to Mark's ET of 6.971 sec and 169.04 mph.

Travis dominated the weekend and the championship. In only his first year as a winning contender, he was in every final round, he won 6 out of the 8 races, finished 2nd twice, and scored 247 points in the final two rounds for a total of 916 points!

(Oct. 6th, 2003 - Montgomery, Al.)

Travis Davis wins!

After missing Atco, Travis returned to The Schnitz Fall Nationals to regain his place as the man to beat in Funny Bike. Out of 6 races this year, Travis has won 4 times, and finished 2nd twice.

Travis has really had only one man to contend with all year, and that's been former Champion Robert Giard. It came down the two riders in the final round, Travis won with a RT of .452, an ET of 7.156, and a top speed of 196.12 mph. Robert had an RT of .475, an ET of 7.462, and top speed of 193.75 mph.

Travis was able to come to grips with the hot, greasy track and qualified with Low ET with a 6.871, and Robert had Top Speed of 198.98 mph.

Of the top ten riders in Funnybike, only two are using Weismann Transmissions, and they are one-two in the championship. Travis has 669 points, Robert has 554 points, and Tom Perry has 465.

(Sept. 19th-21th, 2003 ~ Las Vegas, Nevada)

Fastest Funnybike pass ever - 229 mph!

Chip Ellis was back on Steve Rice's Green Machine to support the first Great American Motorcycle Experience In Las Vegas. The event features drag racing, road racing, TT racing, motorcross, long distance jumps, and everything else you can image associated with the two wheel machines.

Chip was the fastest and quickest rider all weekend. All 8 passes were within 5 hundredths of a second of each other and he had two incredible passes, one at 229 mph, the other at 220 mph. These two passes are the fastest ever, eclipsing Steve Rice's mark of 219 mph set in 1998. Chip's quickest pass was 6.73 seconds, set on the 220 mph pass.

An interesting twist in the events featured the quickest Top Fuel bike against the quickest Funnybike. Both riders red lighted, and the control tower forgot to rest the timing lights for the final round. The Top Fuel Harley was credited with the win because he red lighted less than Chip did. In my video it is hard to tell the the lights came on. However, in Steve Rice's video, it is clear that the bike was stationary when the red light came on. The reflection of the tree lights off the front rim triggered the red light!

(Sept. 11th-13th, 2003 ~ Las Vegas - Primm, Nevada)

Weismann Semi-Auto - Primm 300 Champion!

The SCORE-International PRIMM 300 desert race is the fifth race in the 2003 SCORE-International Off-Road Desert Racing Series. The grueling 5 lap race took it's toll on racers as our transmission shifted this huge trophy truck to win for the second time this year with a time of 4:59:06.

The Herbst have been fortunate to get new tires made for them that are 39 inches in diameter and more puncture resistant. In the past, flat tires slowed them down as often as their automatic transmissions finished them off.

Race distance was 315 miles, and Tim Herbst and A.J. Martin averaged 63.19 mph.

This is the 3rd overall victory in a row for our 6 Speed Semi-Automatic Offroad Transmission.

(Sept. 5th-7th, 2003 - Atco, N.J.)

Robert Giard rules Atco!

The 39th Annual AMA/Prostar U.S. Motorcycle Nationals was the latest stop on the Funny Bike Tour. Ripping up a 1/8 mile bumpy strip, Robert Giard was back in championship form, setting Low E.T. - 4.492s, Top Speed - 162.92 mph, and won the Final Round. Giard has 466 points to Davis with 560.

(Sept. 14th, 2003 ~ New Berlin, NY)

Johnny Greaves and Curt LeDuc win again!

The final two rounds of the 2003 CORR Lucas Oil Series and 22 points separated the top four drivers in the division with a 40 points up for grabs.

Two by two start, Johnny Greaves started from the outside second row. Coming into the first jump, Johnny was aiming for 1st place when he pushed by another truck into a spin and demoted to last place. Johnny clawed his way back thru the field, then took full advantage of a 4 truck pile up on lap 4 to slip into the lead! Johnny then checked out, taking the checkered flag with an eight second lead over Carl Renezeder, who by finishing second, claimed the championship.

Round 14, it was a showdown between Curt LeDuc and Scott Douglas.

Battling for the final win of the 2003 season, Curt took the lead on the sixth lap. Scott tried to pass Curt through out the remaining laps, finally in the last turn he was able to push past. But Douglas was given a black-flag penalty for rough driving, and Curt was awarded his second win in 2003, second place in the championship.

Douglas finished the 2003 season in third place and 2002 Pro-4 champion Johnny Greaves finished 4th. In 14 races, 4 drivers using our products won 10 races. We came away with 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in the championship.

(Aug 10th, 2003 - Indianapolis, In.)

Travis Davis wins Indy!

Hard work has finally been paying off for the runaway championship leader. For the 3rd time in 5 rounds, Travis has won the final elimination round, this time beating fellow KZ3 transmission rider Keith Lynn at the 2003 Pingle Thunder Nationals.

Travis left first with a .017 reaction time to Keith's .094, then tripped the lights with a 6.74 second pass, to Keith's 6.775. Travis had only a top speed of 189.20 mph in the final, but he ran 2 passes back to back at 210 mph over the weekend.

Travis extended his lead to 549 points over 2nd place Robert Giard with 359 points. Even though Travis has appeared in every final this year, with 4 races to go, the odds favor Davis. But Robert is close enough that Travis can't relax just yet.

(Aug 9th-10th, 2003 - Bark River, Mi.)

Johnny Greaves and Curt LeDuc win!

In Round 9, it was Johnny Greaves who came out on top winning his 3rd race of the season. Out of the hole, it was Josh Baldwin who led most of the race, then he started to fade towards the finish. Johnny emerged from the first corner in sixth, and then systematically picked of each of his competitors, one by one, until he was in front, then he cruised home to the finish. Johnny is the only driver this year with 3 wins.

In Round 10, Curt LeDuc finally made it to the winner's circle this year! Curt has been running strong all year with our custom transfer case, but that elusive first win of the season had been avoiding him. A rain soaked racetrack with lots of mud and water, Curt had his hands full, hounded to the finish by Scott Douglas and Josh Baldwin, Curt kept his cool and was rewarded with a fine win and the co-lead in the championship. Johnny had trouble with his mud roll off system on his helmet early on and then lost 3rd place to Carl Renezeder near the end -he never saw him coming! Scott finished 2nd and Josh finished 5th.

This year is a tight race for the championship among the top four drivers. Curt now shares the lead with Carl Renezeder, with 132 points, Johnny is in 3rd with 129 points, and Scott Douglas has 124. With 3 out of the top 4 drivers running are Weismann products, chances are the championship will be won
for the second year in a row with one of our gearboxes, but in this volatile racing, it is anybody's guess who'll win.

(July 4th, 2003 ~ Savannah, Georgia)

Lucas Oil Race Report

Independence Day celebration and celebration of APBA's 100th year Anniversary could not be more fitting than in the historic setting of Georgia's First City, Savannah. "Fire on the Water", fireworks blazoning the sky, and the heat of the weather only exceeded by the heat of the competition.

GMC Pro Grade Super Vee Series has become the largest and hottest class in Offshore racing. All the major high performance manufacturers are fighting it out to be the best monohull on the water, including the legends Cigarette, Wellcraft Scarab and Donzi, and the new comers Fountain Powerboats, Skater and Phantom. Friday's events measured top speed and the race boats flew right down the river and back, right in front of the
riverfront bars, restaurants and shops on the south side and the
Convention Center and Westin Hotels on the other side. Thousands of people were magnetized to the river walls watching the high speed spectacle as the race boats screamed by one by one at over 100mph.

The highest average speed, down and back, was grasped by the No. 30 Miccosukee Indian Gaming at 106.6 mph in the Super Vee Class. Second was the 39' Skater, No. 8 Spiderman. Licensed by the hit movie, Spiderman, it goes to show 8 legs can be better than two! The team of Todd Welling (Driver) and Lance Henricksen (Throttleman) were spinning stories to increase the Arachnophobia and pull in the young fans. Third fastest was
the No. 16 UTZ Potato Chips,
followed by No. 7 Lucas Oil Scarab.

"I was pretty satisfied with the numbers we ran today", added Nigel Hook, Captain of the No 7. Lucas Oil Scarab. "We had spent most of the morning shooting a commercial for General Motors, and so we hadn't lightened the boat up and came out of the water 500lbs over weight", said Hook. Friday morning, Hook was giving his feedback on camera to questions put forth by
Terry Andrzejewski which were captured for Speed Channel.
"The GMC 8100 Vortec program is the biggest event to happen in Offshore racing; who ever heard of a full warranty on race motors?", said Hook. "It has not only made the class the most competitive in APBA, but it has also brought down the cost of racing". Hook went on to say, "It's also good to know that
same technology is going to protect our investment in the new GMC Sierra Tow Truck"
. Look for Terry and Nigel next on Speed Channel.

Saturday racing consisted of the P classes and the Factory One class, followed by Happy Hour testing for the Super Series boats, over 68 race boats in total. By mid-afternoon, the seas off Tybee Island on the race track were running around two to three footers with a lot of disturbance. The No. 7 Lucas Oil Scarab ran the high-speed set-up and was able to skim across the tops of the waves at full throttle. This seemed to be the set-up of choice if the conditions remain the same overnight. The set-up on the Super Vee class typically entails looking at drive ratios,
propellers and weight distribution for balance.

Sunday was the main race, with the Super Vee Class being delayed a full 40 minutes so that the patrol boats could safely marshal the huge spectator fleet. The turnout of fans lining the beaches was also much more than anticipated, with literally tens of thousands of people ready to enjoy the sand, sun and fun of racing. The pace lap started at 1:30pm and it was obvious the ocean was quite a bit more restless that the previous day. "It
was all four footer waves plus out there with very little pattern"
,
commented New Zealander, Craig Archer, No. 7 Lucas Oil Scarab.
"We made the wrong call on propeller selection", he added. There as a lot of jostling mid-pack for the race boats to hold their position, with the Lucas Oil Scarab 4th from pole position.

From the green flag, it was obvious the No. 7 Lucas Oil Scarab had none of the fearsome acceleration it showed in the Marathon race, but it held onto a mid-pack position. To its advantage was the fact it was the only boat running the awesomely reliable Weismann Drives. These drives are built to take the monstrous torque of big commercial diesel engines and accordingly provide amazing reliability for gasoline engines. Even the considerable
torque of the GM 8100 Vortec engines is handled all season long by the Weismann Drives with no maintenance required.

By the end of the race the Bob Bull in the Cigarette, No. 3 H&H Speed and Marine, took the checkered flag with Spiderman in hot pursuit and Lee Murray (formerly Nick Carter Racing) in Team Donzi a very close third. Fourth was Rick Turmel in Pier 57 and fifth place was No. 7 Lucas Oil Scarab. "We were clearly off the pace today", said Nigel Hook, "We selected the wrong propellers, we knew that during the pace lap that it was going to be a long day!", Nigel went on to say "the propellers we lent to Rick Turmel would have been better for sure. Rick had accidentally damaged his propellers before the race and we didn't think we would need
the ones we lent him".

(July 12th, Henderson, Nevada)

Weismann Semi-Auto - Henderson 250 Champion!

The Weismann driven Trophy Truck finally wins it's first race of the 2003 season and the overall win as well. Out of 95 starters, only 55 remained after completing grueling 3 laps around the rugged 79 mile course.

The Trophy Truck set the fastest lap of the race at 1:21:41, averaging 56.33 mph en route to a 42 second victory. The Weismann driven Truggy finished 3rd in class and 6th place overall, 9 minutes behind the truck.

(July 13th - Goodwood, England)

Reigning Champ Rod Millen finishes 2nd

Rod Millen fell 3 seconds short of winning back to back titles at the legendary Goodwood Festival of Speed. With 7 F1 cars as part of the competition, Rod brought out the Toyota Tundra with our 4WD 5 speed transmission out to try and take the crown.

He ran the same tires he used for the dirt and gravel of the Pikes Peak Hill Climb! In his second visit to Goodwood, he bettered his time from last year by 3 seconds. At 45.08 seconds, he was quick enough for second place, shy of the event winner Graeme Wight Jnr. by 3 seconds.

Rod winning in the Celica last year with a different 4WD 5 speed of ours.

(July 13th - Bark River, Michigan)

Jason Baldwin wins second race!

Round 7 and Jason make a good start on the downhill land rush emerging from the 1st turn in second place. He quickly passed into the lead and lead every lap to win his second race of the year. Johnny Greaves got a flat tire and finished 5th.

(July 10th - Costa Mesa, California)

Weismann's MKVI is alive!

These black beauties are our latest Surface Drive.

Specially designed for high speed, these drives are skegless and trimable, but the steering is fixed.

(June 27th-29th, Norwalk, Ohio)

Travis Davis wins his 2nd National Event!

Travis Davis extended his commanding lead in the championship by securing his 2nd win of the season at the Norris Motorsports Cyclefest. Travis set the fastest speed of the weekend at 206.54 mph and qualified #2.

It was #1 qualifier Tom Perry that ended up in the lane next to Travis in the final elimination. Travis simply left before Tom at the tree and never looked back. Travis had a .439 s reaction time, 6.816 s ET, and 204.11 mph to Tom's .586 s RT,&.032 ET and 198.06 mph.

Robert Giard is still second in the championship, but was taken out by Travis in the quarter finals.

(June 22th-23rd - Crandon, Wisconsin)

Jason Baldwin wins first race!

Round 5 and Johnny is on the very outside of a land rush start. His Toyota Tundra jumped to 3rd place going into turn one start and passed the second place truck soon afterwards. The leader Jason Baldwin, racing with a new, custom Weismann 4WD Transfer Case, soon had Johnny all over his rear bumper, looking to strike. But coming off a jump, Johnny damaged his wheel, causing a flat.

Curt Le Duc and Scott Douglas got passed Johnny's wounded truck and set off after Jason. Baldwin and LeDuc, both hungry for their first win of the season, traded paint all the way to the checkered flag. Baldwin just beating LeDuc to the finish line, while Greaves finished third.

Curt is also running his own custom Weismann 4WD Transfer Case, and in Round 5, we had our first 1-2-3 in our short CORR history.

Round 6 and Johnny is lined up in the same spot. This time Johnny and his Potawatomi Tundra did not get around the first turn too well, some contact was made, and Curt Le Duc got sideways and knocked Johnny clean off the track, into the woods!

Jason Baldwin had the lead on the first turn again, but a right rear flat slowed his truck. Carl Renezeder took lead and finished first ahead of Curt LeDuc. Josh Baldwin placing third and Johnny emerged from the trees with a front flat, but he still managed 4th place and 77 points. LeDuc and Douglas, are tied in second with 72 points.

Johnny Greaves Wins Potawatomi Governors Cup Challenge!

Each year, the Crandon International Off Road Raceway features a 10-lap, non-points competition between the Pro-4, Pro-2 and Sportsman 2 trucks on the same course.

This year three Pro-2’s were given the traditional head start, the rest had to remain back with the lineup. At the green flag, the Pro-2’s charged around the corner first, with the Pro-4’s trailing close behind.

In two laps, the Pro-4’s had made their way to the front, five trucks running bumper to bumper, lap after lap, waiting for somebody to make a mistake. Johnny racing in 4th, passed into third place with a gutsy inside move with two laps to go.

The leader Carl Renezeder suffered his 5th automatic transmission failure of the weekend and Johnny was now in second place and all over the new leader, Curt Le Duc.

With only a half a lap to go, Johnny knew Curt would cover the inside lines, so he got a run on him over the front jumps and thru the fast sweeper. Johnny took the high line around the outside of Curt and they went thru the next turn side by side!

Johnny had the momentum and squeezed past. With one turn to go, Le Duc gave one last ditch effort, and tagged Johnny hard in the rear. Johnny was ready for him and he held on to win one of the closest Governors Cup Challenge in recent history.

Johnny and ourselves have now added the Governors Cup to our records!

(May 31st, Ensenada, Baja California)

Weismann Semi-Auto - Baja 500 Champion!

The 2WD Truggy has been refitted with a Weismann Semi-Automatic 6 Speed Transmission and in it's second race, it has won the Baja 500!

So many times over the years, the Herbst Team has suffered from their automatic transmissions failing during the race while leading in both the Truggy and the Trophy Truck.

We proved the strength of our design with the Truck winning last year's championship in our first try, so it was inevitable that it would be used in their Truggy this year.

With no problems all day long, they brought her home to a 43 second lead over 2nd place. Their overall speed was 45.60 mph, with a time of 9:54:46. They was actually 2nd overall, losing to a motorcycle, but they don't count!

"We kinda held back some," - Troy Herbst.

Tim and Ed Herbst finished 2nd in their class and 36th overall, with a time of 11:29:40. The first win of the season has been proving quite elusive for the #1 Trophy Truck.

GRAN PREMIO SEVEN UP

(June 1st, Guatemala)

Arnold Rivera dominates easily.

Arnold Rivera is proving this year that he has the car to win the Central America Trans Am Series. Arnold has a Rocketsports chassis with one of our "Imsa" transmissions, one that was originally purchased by Roush some 15 years ago.

He has completely rebuilt the car and we helped him with the gearing and some spare parts. With already 3 wins this year, he has positioned himself as the early favorite for the Championship.

The Salvadorian won in commanding style, leading the entire 50 laps and winning the GT1 Class and 1st place overall!

Arnold, 5th from the right, and his fine crew before the start of the race.

SCCA WESTERN AND NATIONAL SERIES

(Jan-May, 2003)

Weismann Transmissions 8 for 8 wins!

For the past two years, Andy Porterfield has won the pole position and the race in Phoenix. But this year he simply got beat by the other car with our "Imsa" transmission, Lew Larimer.

But the 71 year old reigning champion was not going to let that happen again and he smoked the competition at the California Speedway, winning from flag to flag!

He then went on win the double header in Willow Springs, and the next four races at Button Willow! Even more remarkable than his race record, is that Andy prepares and maintains the car!

(May 25th & 26th, Dresser, Wisconsin)

Johnny Greaves sweeps first two rounds!

Round 1 and 2 took place on a new short tight, 1/2 mile track with lots of elevation change. Instead of the usual 15 lap events, these races were 30 laps long. Johnny started last and took it easy at the start to avoid any mayhem at the first turn. There was, and he emerged in fourth place! Wasting no time, he passes into 3rd on the second lap, then Curt Le Duc rolled his truck and the race was stopped.

On the restart, Johnny tried to take a tight inside line into the first turn and spun. He had to watch the whole field go by before he could get going!

Johnny came back strong and picked off each truck in front of him on a track where people were complaining about the lack of passing spots! By the half way point, Johnny was in the lead and he never looked back, taking the checkered flag!

Round 2 and Johnny is at the back of the pack due to the inverted starting lineup. This time Johnny wasn't so fortunate to avoid the first turn traffic jam and he had to spin the truck to avoid a collision.

Johnny had been here before and he knew the task was not going to be easy. The track was deteriorating as fast as he was passing thru the field. He moved into second place and maintained pressure on the leader for several laps until one of the leader's wheels broke off.

Johnny slipped into the lead, and a few laps later, the defending champion took the win, his second of the win of the season and his 30th carrier win!

(May 25th, Lisbon, Portugal)

Jotun debuts and crashes!

Round 1 of the 2003 Superfund Class 1 World Powerboat Championship took place in the waters around Lisbon for the first time this weekend.

Wasting no time in getting up to speed, Team Jotun proved to be the boat to beat!

Victory Team was pushing hard to run with Jotun when they encountered a gust of wind and back flipped! They were very lucky to emerge unhurt.

This shot was taken just after touching back down again after the back flip, it finally came to rest right side up!

Jotun was flying at over 150 mph, easily 3 seconds faster than everyone else with our latest drive train for UIM Offshore, but the good times didn't last.

Disaster struck the new 40' MTI cat early in their qualifying run and they barrel-rolled the boat! Qualifying was red flagged to remove the stricken cat and Jann Hillestad and Bernhard Bellmann were all right.

The team had to install new motors for the race and during the race while running a close 3rd, a water hose came loose and they were forced to conserve the boat and they finished 5th. In the top photo at the start they were in 4th.

Victory Team barrel-rolled their second boat in the race!

Since transmissions have been banned, the pilots are forced to carry more speed thru the turns. In an effort to keep the boats on plane, they barrel roll often.

This spy shot was taken of Jotun in testing. Just after this test, the UIM governing committee received news of the boat and our new package and quickly changed the rules, banning our latest 4 speed transmission from competition in Europe. We designed it specifically to the new rules, but somehow, even before we've had a chance to prove the overall package, the transmission gets banned! We had no choice other than to quickly redesign it for the new rules, basically going back into the dark ages and eliminating the 3 of the 4 speeds.

(May 2nd, Oceanside, Ca.)

Super Vee beats Super Cats!!

Reigning POPRA Super Vee Champion Nigel Hook teamed up with a new driver Brett Seber for the first race of the POPRA Offshore championship.

The #7 Lucas Oil Scarab made a conservative start running in 5th behind the four Super Cats thru the four-five foot waves and as the wind and seas picked up, the team of Brett Seber and Nigel Hook began to work well together.

"We were systematically pulling in the lead pack of boats", commented Nigel, "the boat was dialed in and balanced perfectly as she flew from wave to wave".

At the front of the field, Coby Klein's Kidstuf was cruising. Equipped with #6 drives rebuilt by Weismann Marine, he was beginning to lap the field when a trim pump quit and forced Coby to retire.

Nigel Hook had passed Honker Cut for 3rd, and the leading Super Cats, an Eliminator and a PX Talon with blown engines were racing neck and neck.

With one lap to go, Brett and Nigel caught the two leading Super Cats. Coming round turns one and two, the red Scarab was right behind the unsuspecting leaders.

As they accelerated down the final straightaway, they passed into 2nd position in front of the cheering crowd on the Pier and sets their sights on the leading cat.

Nigel and Brett launched into the overall lead, crossing the finish line in first place - just fractions of a second ahead of the Eliminator Super Cat.

Nigel Hook is the only boat that is legal to race our revolutionary inline engine/transmission/drive package.

(May 2nd, Richmond, Va.)

Travis Davis wins his first Funnybike National Event!

Due to the rain shortened event in Atlanta, the elimination rounds where run in Richmond on Saturday. Travis qualified 4th for the eliminations but quickly became the man to beat as he easily won his semi-final round against #1 qualifier Korry Hogan.

Since purchasing our KZ3 transmission last year, Travis and his father John Davis have been able to put more power to the ground, and that pass was their quickest yet with a .457 hole shot, a 6.779 sec ET, and a speed of 195.31 mph.

Travis ended up meeting #3 qualifier Tom Perry's Suzuki in the finals. Travis left first with a .467 s hole shot to Tom's .546 s and Tom could only watch as Travis pulled away and recorded an even quicker pass at 6.757 s at 202.70 mph, winning his first AMA/Prostar National!

#1 qualifier Ryan Schnitz and his ZX1200 ProMod bogged at the line.

(May 3rd, Richmond, Va.)

Robert Giard wins Funny Bike Spring Nationals!

Sunday's eliminations came down to #7 qualifier Robert, and latest winner and #2 qualifier Travis. Travis had disposed of Perry Hollie in the semis, while Robert had a bye run.

At the tree, Travis left first with a .457 s hole shot to Robert's .478 s. But the former champ came back strong and passed Travis to trip the lights first with a 7.074 s ET/189.42 mph pass to Travis' 7.155 s ET/183.94 mph pass.

The first 2 rounds of the AMA/Prostar Funnybike Championship have been completed, and both have been won using our KZ3 transmissions. Travis holds a slim lead over Robert Giard.

(Apr. 11th, Atlanta, Georgia)

Weismann 4 Speed ZX1200 Debuts #1!

The Team Muzzy Turbo Kawasaki made it's first passes at the AMA Prostar Elmer Trett Nationals and rider Ryan Schnitz wasted no time in coming to grips with his new Pro-Mod drag bike.

After making a few shake down passes to set the clutch, Ryan got down to business and laid down a 6.83 second 196.53 mph pass, his fastest ever! With that pass, he set the quickest ET and fastest MPH in the 21 bike field, and he was also quicker and faster than all of the Funny Bikes!

Then the rains came, and the event was postponed.
