Starting in 116th overall position out of 185 entries, Paul took the first stint and quickly established a lead in the unlimited Ultra 4 class.
Loren Healy took over the reigns and drove though the night.
But it would not be an easy run as they had to cut off one of the front axles after they lost a CV boot!
By morning Loren had extended their lead to a whopping 200+ miles over the second place Ultra4!
Paul took over for the final stint and cruised to San Felipe finished 25th overall and first in the Unlimited Hammer 4400 Class!
Congratulations to Paul and Loren on their first Baja 1000 win and hopefully history will repeat itself again as Parnelli and Weismann won it again in 1971!
